Meanwhile the large LCD meter indicates, with bars, the signals strength and depth level, as well as seven zone target icons which include a ring, 10, 25 or 50 cents, and iron, gold or silver meter indication! This is helpful; as you’ll see that all deeper coins and rings will be shown as the two visible bands on the meter will flash side to side. This simple but informative design also features a pinpoint push-button and adjustable sensitivity and discrimination. Its response is quick and accurate – easy to both see and read!

These are the same features often found on metal detectors that cost hundreds of dollars more!

Hear the sound of treasure via the built-in external speaker or headphones that snap right into the headphones jack. The compact design of the MPX keeps it lightweight – it only weighs 3.3lbs, operating at a frequency of 12.5kHzs. It requires only two 9 volt batteries to function for many hours in the field, and comes with a five year limited warranty.

You people are right about the MPX being a perfect detector for the entire family.
I had metal detected with my Dad when I was a kid. I had great fun and although I didn’t realize it then I bonded closer with my Dad because of the time we spent together.

Now I have my own family and when my son asked me to get him a metal detector for last Christmas a flood of pleasant memories came back to me. I thought if I had a good time with my father, this could repeat with me and my son. Little did I know that my whole family would become interested.

I purchased the MP3 Pro and the metal detector was better than you fellows said. My son was using it on his own the first day. I thought I would detect and he would dig. Turns out he detected and I did the digging. I had to order my MPX the next day, so we both had detectors and the coins just kept coming out of the ground. When we started to bring rings home, my wife and girls got excited enough to accompany us to see what we were doing. So now I had the entire family detecting and digging. You guessed it. I had to get another detector so my wife and daughters could detect for rings, another MPX (love that detector) came and more detecting and digging, all of us having a great time together!

We search parks, playgrounds, old camping areas, and even took it to the beach a few times. The beach was fantastic, easy digging and sure enough we found a large diamond ring in addition to the other rings including gold wedding bands, silver rings and some with rubies. We can't even count the coins we find now, just put them in a big 5 gallon jug. We'll count and sort them when the jug fills up. I'll send you the pictures I took first chance I get.

Thanks for your great service. You have a nice bunch of people down there. You can tell customers that the MPX is definitely a perfect detector for their entire family.

David A

P.S. My Dad now joins us once in a while detecting. He's using an older detector but I'll guess he will be getting an MPX before long.

I have always wanted to go metal detecting but was intimidated that I would not know how to use the detector and it would just gather dust in my closet. I did my homework and found the MPX. It had a great price and the specs showed that I would not have to upgrade to a better model should this become more than an occasional hobby. I pulled this right out of the box and took it outside. I live near an old fair ground and found $.83 in change plus a 1911 barber $.50 piece. The barber was down 7" and had rusty nails in the same area. The MPX picked up both targets! I am hooked! My wife has since joined the hobby and purchased her own MPX. My 12 and 13 year old sons always wanted to use them so I guess Santa will bring two more. So keep them stocked Kellyco! The whole family loves the MPX Detectors and I would give 100% recommendations to anyone looking to join the fun. EASY TO OPERATE, POWERFUL, AND LIGHT! The only improvement I would like to see would be a volume control. This purchase has also caused my boys to STUDY AMERICAN HISTORY. Who would of thought? They inform me of hunting sites now. It has become a great family hobby. Thanks Kelly Co!

KELLYCO Test Team Member "Nathan" was one of the first to field test the MPX. In a field where houses used to stand and now had become a dumping ground for neighborhood trash, Nathan put the MPX to a rigorous test in a high trash area with loads of metal junk.

While only 2 wheat pennies where found, we were surprised when the MPX indicated a target in the middle of a trash pile including grass clippings, kitchen ware and scattered paper. After moving a part of the trash pile, there it was sparkling in the sunlight. It was a gold coin looking as beautiful as the day it was minted!

This gold coin is a limited edition Super Bowl Commemorative Coin found in the original plastic case.

The MPX is easy to tune and setup. It's a bit heavy and tiring on the arms. Also, it’s easy to use the discriminator. The secret is to move at a very slow swing and you won’t be disappointing for finding deep targets.

The only feature lacking is a target ID read out to know what type of coin you are swinging over. But over all it is a very good machine to start out with.

Up here in Canada we use a lot of one and two dollar coins and it boggles the mind to realize how many end up in the ground.

Of course the MPX finds pennies by the dozen, but the depth continues to blow me away.

Many other more well known and highly rated machines would not even get a signal at that depth, especially when it comes to dimes. When the machine reads maximum depth I don't even consider attempting to dig, especially in a public place, because I would need a shovel to do some very serious digging and excavating.

My point is simply this........you have a great product regardless of where it is made and it appears most detectorists are not paying
attention or have some idea they are cheap Chinese made machines.
Hardly I would say, they sizzle.

The MPX has made me one very happy camper and I appreciate Kellyco being there to make it possible.

Many thanks, David Barclay

The MPX is easy to use right out of the box and there is no actual tuning required, you simply set the sensitivity level and the discrimination level and away you go.

What impressed me the most was the depth. The MPX is a deep seeking machine. Imagine my surprise when it uncovered a brass thumbtack down a full 4 inches. A very tiny target indeed.

I also ordered the 8 inch coil which I like very much. To date I am more than satisfied with the performance of the MPX, it beats everything else I've used over the years.

Having only detected my own property and the fair grounds with my new MPX I've found a wide assortment of coins including pennies, nickels, dimes, quarters as well as one dollar and two dollar coins. Plus a 19th century English police whistle along with an assortment of junk items such as a well corroded pocket watch etc. etc. If this is any indication of what's to come I must be in for some serious fun.

Thanks Kellyco for a great metal detector and great customer service.

I would recommend the MPX to anyone, it's a real fun machine and having fun is what it's all about.

The MPX is a serious go anywhere find anything type of metal detector. It it's there the MPX will find it.

My first impression out of the box, cheap plastic. My son said it looked like a fake toy. With that said, I have to say it works great and the price was right. Sadly I can not find a coil cover to fit it, I wished I would have known that first.

The MPX was easy to use but the manual for use is very incorrect. The 10" search coil is heavy which causes poor balance. The arm support could stand to be a little further back to help with balance. The telescoping shaft is loose (coil moves around and makes false signals), and the plastic tightener broke after a few uses. The pinpoint button location is clumsy. I prefer a "trigger" similar to the Whites. The display oddly does not include penny or nickel icons. They usually indicate on the "ring" icon. The headphones with volume adjustments should be used since the speaker volume is loud. When removing the cover to install batteries, a "Made in China" sticker was affixed to the back of the battery door (which explains the bad user manual). Aside from the above shortcomings, the detector is a "quarter finding machine". It works great in wet beach sand as well as inland. The discrimination is excellent allowing you to get the goodies out of a trash area.
This detector would earn its fifth star if some of the above shortcomings would be corrected.

The MPX is a fun machine. It is easy to operate. You just turn it on and away you go.

The discrimination is great. If you cancel out the first three icons for nails, bottle caps and pull tabs keep going and click one or two more, which leaves you with 4 icons depicting good stuff. At this level of discrimination, you will have fun finding coins and jewelry etc., as well as brass and copper items.

Don't let the low price fool you into thinking this is a cheap machine because it's not.

It does all they say it does with ease. And as far as depth goes, it goes deep if you are into digging deep holes you'll love this machine.

My most common finds are $1 & $2 coins followed by quarters and lots of pennies of course along with dimes and nickels. My best find to date is a holed 1868 British half penny in excellent condition.

If you want detecting to be fun, go with the MPX. After using several other machines over the years, I have no problem recommending the MPX to anyone and everyone.

On top of everything else, Kellyco is a good outfit to deal with. They are always friendly and helpful. What more could you ask for?
